we keep breaking the bolts at the bottom of the upright mixing auger in the tank. using grade 8 bolts and it shears them every 3 or 4 loads. grinding dry ear con with a small amount of supplement meal always been in use , , so not a junker been parked , stored inside , tank is clean , smooth and not rusty. any ideas???

If the holes are worn so there is slop in there they won't hold. You could drill them out so you have a new surface or drill new ones 90? off.

I'd go with a bearing or something. Somehow it is getting in a bind. Make sure the top hasn't shifted or anything. Is all of the flighting sufficient? Maybe it's binding up with feed and can't move it fast enough.

Have you noticed a pattern? Does it do it when empty or full? Does it matter how fast you feed in the corn?

My 400 suddenly started jumping a tooth on the supplement bin if you loaded it really full. It was a bearing at the other end of the mixer. It let it move just enough to put it in a bind.
