Holder A55 Tractor

Holder A55

New User
Hello,

I have a Holder A55 Tractor that is in great running condition except one of the main pinion gears started to fail. Before realizing what the problem was, it damaged two other gears. The gears it damaged are as follows:

Part Number:
1855, which became AG350740102, and later became 140827
1850, which became A200748123
1814, which became A200748105, and later became 117924

I have not been able to find used or new replacement parts in the USA or in Germany. I would prefer to find a salvage yard that would have these gears or the entire transmission in stock. Does anyone know of a source in either the US or some other country that would have access these parts for sale?

Be nice if someone had some laying around ? But short of that your likely going to have to repair what you have or use them as patterns to get new ones made.
Are the teeth worn down Or broken off or what happened to them ?

The teeth on the pinion 1855 (spiral gear teeth), are broken off. I checked the hardness of the material an it is around 60 to 62 HRC, which is extremely hard. I thought about annealing this gear to soften and then build up the broken teeth with TIG rod. After that, try to have a local gear shop machine the teeth back to or close to their original shape. I could then quench and temper or normalize, depending upon the material, to get the hardness back. My biggest concern with this repair approach is that the repaired teeth may chip in the future and cause more problems. Any thoughts? I am going to continue to try and find replacement parts as this would be the ideal solution.

Could you post a picture of the tractor? Is it a small articulated with a single cylinder two cycle Diesel engine? If so, I know of someone that obtained parts from Germany.

Holder A55,Neat little tractor, kind of like a Cast that I had. There are several on U tube,You might try geting in touch with some of the owners and inquire about parts.
Here is one.

have one for sale with blade and winch, email if interested [email protected]

Or try getting in touch with Albrecht Klaas

Spiral may be tricky. How big is it ? The larger it is I think the easier it would be to do yourself ? I have welded up JD rollomactic gear teeth which are straight cut without issue. You just have to get a rod made to weld on gears. Certainium 707 used to be a good one but is hard to find. Last time rod dealer crossed it to something else. These rods weld gets hard and has to be ground to shape.
Also had a welder friend weld up some parts of a steering worm where the break the corners off of. He tig welded it with some hard stuff. Nice thing with tig was he could control better how much was laid down so not as much grinding needed. No special heat treating needed before or after welding these.

There is a guy on here I think Rich Dwane (sp?) makes worm gears for the John Deeres. Might be worth a shout out to him over at the JD board.

I can take a picture of it later but am not at my house right now. It is a 3 cylinder, 4 cycle Diesel VD3 Engine. The model number is a A55, articulated, 4x4 tractor. Below is a link to the cover page of my manual and the schematic of the gears I need highlighted in yellow. Part numbers are also listed below.
