What to do with left over parts

A couple of weeks ago I was sorting out my shed and had to move some old engines I have stored for more than 20 years. One was a Fairbanks Morris Z-D. I thought I should do something with it. I got it started after cleaning up the points, cleaning out the gas tank and freeing the check ball in the gas line.
I had an old Craftsman tractor with Trans but little else. This tractor had a hard life as the engine, steering and front end were trash. I looked at Craigslist and found the parts I needed listed for $40.
Now I needed a way to transfer the power of a horizontal engine into the vertical orientation of the mower. I found a right angle gear and pulleys, bearings, belts and a ? inch keyed shaft.
I think it turned out pretty good for a weekend project.

THAT's SO COOL!!!!
Ah! Man that is neat... I love it! That's been an idea of mine too, just can't afford it and don't have a "resource pile" to draw from.

Congrats!! please post pics/video of it working, if you are able to.

Well done you. When I have leftover parts I often worry if they were crucial to the operation of the last project. ;^)

I have seen a couple of mowers "converted" to an old engine such as that. They are real head turners at parades and "old timers days".
