I've been searching for 2 years for this...

Finally found it buried deep in the shelves.

Anyway, it's a 50 foot roll of NAPA #734705 '8MM Metallic Yellow Ignition Cable'.

Do y'all think it is a good wire to use for Ford hundred series tractors plug wires?

No solid core. I had this 50 foot coil for around 20-25 years and finally found it.
The core is twisted strand.

othing magic about "solid"!

JD Seller- I don't have a clue about this wire. Bought it around 25 years ago and forgot about it.

Looking up the 'specs' on it...

"8MM IRS wire is designed for use on performance applications. Delivers maximum voltage to spark plugs. Use where ignition suppression is not required.

-Racing yellow Silicone jacket ensures excellent heat protection
- Tinned metallic conductor for optimum strength
- Glass fiber braid to increase overall cable strength
-Operates continuously at temperatures over 400 degrees F (204 degrees C)
- 50 ft Spool
- (or Alternate 734706)"

That is all I know about this wire. I think it will work but just wasn't sure.

IMHO, "twisted strand" spark plug wires are equivalent to "solid core" vs. resistance/carbon core wires. And there ain't no such thing as "solid core" plug wires having a single strand of metal wire.

RF suppression plug wires are typically resistance/carbon core or a have a core of wound metal wire.

8mm, with associated terminations and boots is WAY "overkill" for and old tractor on the basis of cost, but quite swell electrically.

I googled the number and it says it is a non resister wire for use in places that radio interference is not an issue. That usually means it true wire not the corded graphite resistor type.

will deliver good spark, will not leak voltage, very supple and will withstand high temps. have a set on my 84 Silverado that i have had on 4 previous GM products had over 30 years on them i only change cap and rotors when needed. do not let anybody sweet talk you out of it .

Will work perfect. The yellow will be a perfect accent on a nice blue tractor.

If you cant find ends/boots, Summit Racing or Jegs will have them on your door in a few days.

I run 10mm on my big block chevys. Can you really go too big? :)

Great stuff. If you find it interferes with your tractor radio or CB you can install resistor ends from any German car in the junk yard.

LOL! I feel silly, I always thought 'solid core' meant "SOLID" as in one piece of solid core wire. Like in 12/2 w/ground. My mistake.

If you put it on your engine and wonder why Barney the cop doesn't pull you over for speeding it is because it scrambles the radar , that is why it is not legal in most states for automotive applacation
