OT - Efficient?

I needed 3 plastic plugs for the cowl of my 1 ton Dodge. Ordered them for 5$. Shipping/handling was 8$. Cost more to get them here than they cost. They arrived yesterday in a 6" x 6" x 8" box. Inside was a bag of air plus a 1" x 2" ziplock bag containing the 3 plugs. It just didn't make sense to me. Oh well.

It doesn't make sense til I go to town to try to find whatever. First I go to several stores with no luck. Then when you do find it the price is double what you can order it for with the shipping. Then they want sales tax. Or half the time they just say we can order that for you. I have got to the point that I just order it from home and fix it when the part gets here.

Yeah, you're right. If I didn't order on-line, then it would be off to the Dodge dealer for a 50 mile round trip. And, I doubt they would have them in stock.

I have a Coast-To-Coast dealer here, most always has EVERYTHING I need for various mowers, lots of tractor parts, Stihl parts, etc. I think i's in MY BEST INTEREST to keep him in business, give him all the business I can. It's worth it to me, to have him there, 24/7, even if he is 5% higher than somebody. You got a good, guy, best support him.
