Elevatorman,

I don't know how to do pictures on here, but, I too, baled a little bit of hay today. I work a part-time job off the farm in the afternoos, so when I got home from work this evening, my wife and I went out and picked up a small wagon load of bales in the dark. I'll stack them tomorrow.

Strange weather this year.

I've had a 14T for years, now, but I bought a 224T at an auction few weeks ago for $300, and not in bad shape. I cut some hay a few days ago, and decided to try it. We greased it up, went up to the local parts place and got some multiluber grease and filled it up, and ran a few bales of straw through it until the knotters started acting right. I didn't get started in the field until 3:30, and it was light, but I baled about 90 nice tight bales and didn't miss a knot. Any one want a nice 14T for a backup or parts??

I have one filed I could cut and bale but with it being so dry here I am afraid to even try to cut in due to the fact if I did it might catch fire with so much as one single spark

Yeah hardly worth it will probably only get wagon and half for 10 acres. I too work full time hobby farm crops hay cows. Getting dark have to finish tommorow.

What county are you in, I hauled a lot of livestock up the I - 81 corridor years ago, spent a good bit of time in Baltimore, Montgomery, Frederick and Howard Counties, doubt there is near the dairy farms there were then, 70's and early 80's.

I remember the Iaeger farm at Fulton, they had Holsteins and raised turkeys, there was a Guernsey herd 3 or 4 miles from them but I don't remember the mans name, he had sons who were a few years older than me at the time so I imagine they are retired. Used to go to West Friendship sale barn and to one of the Warfield farms past the Howard county fair grounds, it was really interesting to me because where I was raised and live is very thinly populated and 100% rural but in MD there were working farms next door to shopping centers and subdivisions, a lot of vehicles on the roads though.

Landsdale Pugh lived down the road he's passed away. Eager still does turkey's and milks I forget about them so that makes four dairies. We live in west friendship we were making hay on farm that backs up to bob harless place they used to milk a lot of cows in the 70 and 80sand the traffic is a lot worse now some people wave others give you another hand gesture
