Dry as a bone here, winds 25 gusting to 45, good day to be careful.

I still have one field I could mow for hay but not sure I want to risk it with it being this dry. I bet if a fire where to get started it would take a good bit to put it out and it might get a long ways before they got it out. Fields are turning brown and we have not had a good rain in weeks if not months

Dry and windy here also. Whole state is under a burn ban.

On land the wind has been 15 to 20
But offshore its been 25 to 30 with 10 foot seas.
And it's suppose to stay like this at least threw the weekend

I came thru town just after sundown and the department tank truck was at the convenience store fueling up. Last Monday they got called to mutual aid a cornfield fire along with 3 other departments in the next town's territory. They reported about 30 acres affected. Three neighbors came in with tractor and discs and the operator had a ripper hooked up. Lucky it didn't make it to my place about 6 miles further.

I was mowing a very dry piece once, when I got to the end and turned, what a cloud of black smoke! I apparently made a spark by touching a rock. Fortunately I had my FD portable radio so I was able to call it in, and some guys got there pretty quick.
