1460 starter wanting to run wild

Ok, so on my 1460 I had it all ready to go Monday after repairing a blown hyd line to the steering and cranked it to start, shut it off to adjust something and the starter continued to run, and as you may know, could not get the negatives off fast enough and toasted the starter. Got a new one yesterday checked all leads from the batteries, voltage is good, connections all look good, but it was raining so I fired it up last night and it started/stopped ok. Well today, it did it again, but managed to get the negative off in time. I already replaced the relay up above the starter, but there is still something drawing power as I went to hook the negative back up to the engine frame mount and a shower of sparks erupts. I am wondering if it is the key switch. All wiring looks ok in the console. Any ideas? It is driving me nuts.. I need to get the rest beans off and still have wheat to plant.

Remove the small wire from the solenoid from the key Start position. If it still does it, the electrical contacts in the solenoid are welded/stuck together. if all is quiet, jump from the battery wire on the solenoid, to the start terminal on the solenoid. This should make it engage normally (be careful to have it in neutral and tires blocked/brake locked to prevent being run over. Jim
