Looks to me like a pretty solid deal on an 8N.... I know it isn't the right color, but come on! Looks great to me! I would be happy to own it.. AWESOME tires, sheet metal looks straight, decent machine for the price...

That's about double what they'll bring here anymore. Last one I had,I got $1800 for it with a new correct paintjob and about half a dozen implements, and that was over 30 years ago.

That is not at all a bad price for a good running N series in these parts. They always start off wanting 22 and end up selling for 17 or 18.

Where are they available with good metal and running well for 700 bucks? I may go into the n selling business!

That is not a "Deal" around here on one. They usually bring 1200-1500 with the correct paint and drawbars. The glory days of the little Fords and the To series Fergusons is behind us for awhile. They may increase in value in the future but I really do not see it happening. People want more features and creature comforts on a tractor today. Power Steering and live/independent PTO are the main ones.

I just checked mid Michigan CL. Sure there are plenty advertised for $3000-3500,but there are plenty for $800-1200 too. There's one for $1100,says "price reduced". The guy must have stopped dreaming and got serious about getting it out of his yard. I honestly can't remember when I saw one go as high as $1000 on an auction.

Pass. You can get a with more hp and a live PTO for that kind of money. One of my neighbors has a 8n and two 2ns. $1750 is would I would offer him for all three.

rrlund: IF you had to keep it and use it for work would you even give $700-800 for one???? LOL I sure would not. They are a beast to use and run. The only plus is that they have a three point hitch. Most have the 1 1/8 PTO shaft without a swinging drawbar, and then add in the fact most of them have worn out engines that are under 20 HP. Not much to attract a fellow.

That's on the high side around here. Correct paint would help. Side distributor would help too but at the most it would be $1500. $11-1200 would be average and that would be with good tires and good repair.

These days when I see an old Ford tractor I wonder how many owners they have had. I've owned a couple in the past. Seems like people will own them for a few years...some will set around their acreages, then move on to a new owner. After 60-70 years, I'll bet they would have some stories to tell.

I looked at stuff this guy had for sale a couple of times and was disappointed each time.....

Area dictates price. That's about average price here but then the market here is somewhat better for something like that.

I'd darn sure buy on of those long before I bought anything that required support of lack there of from AGCO, like the old Oliver's AC's, or MM's.

But you are still looking at a 23 HP tractor that lacks the weight to pull good and has poor brakes at best. Yea I own a couple and use them a lot. They fit a need here for me but I'd rather have something a little newer with a little more hp.

One of the best all around small tractors ever built! It will get into places and do things others can't. It's also a good price for around here - paint is nothing. They run a rake/tedder, and two row stuff.

I'm with the other guys, paint can cover a multitude of sins. It appears the left rear wheel is leaking chloride already. Probably was before he got around to the right front wheel. The tractor market here in Iowa is really soft. Take your time, I'd rather see one in its work clothes so I know what I'm getting. I'm a Fergie fan myself and I'd look for one of them before a Ford. The engines for the most part were better, and had more power, IMHO.

I would like to have more of them, no money to do it tho. My 2N has been here and used hard since new 71 years ago and if they were as bad as you say then it would have been long gone. I have been here 72 years being 8 month old when it came.
