John Deere 720 Oil usage

I have a John Deere 720 diesel that I purchased from a farmer And he had not run it for a long time. I got it running but I go through too much oil. It will use 3 liter of oil in just a few minutes of running. It is not smoking when it is running and it does not leak oil on the floor. The transmission oil seems to be rising. Not sure how it could get there??

(quoted from post at 21:52:57 10/04/15) Is the main seal on the clutch side the only way it can get there?

There is a free parts book on the JD web site.
The drain holes could be blocked, somebody could have blotched the installation of seals and blocked the drain. Too much oil pressure will push oil past the slinger.
