Massey 135 tire problem

I have a Massey 135. When I acquired it, I noticed that one front tire is angled inward as the bottom whereas the other is vertical. Both are parallel with the rear tires. This does not seem normal to me and it seems as if it would cause abnormal wear on the tire angled inward. Could anyone inform me as to what the problem is and how it could be corrected. Thanks.

Jack that side of the tractor and rock the tire a little, your checking for worn spindle and the upper and lower bushings in the spindle housing

Like others said, check the bushings, and wheel bearings. Some wear is acceptable, just don't want to let it go so far that the bushings wear through and damage the inside bore of the axle. Also be sure the 2 bolts on each side that attach the axle extensions to the main axle are in place, tight and the right size. The 2 axle members should bolt parallel to each other.

As far as wear, the angle is not that important. Toe in is more critical, wheels should be set about 1/8 inch toe in on level ground.

its sounds more like somethings bent than worn bushing. I picture of it would really help us to help
you.

(quoted from post at 06:51:11 10/02/15) Possibly a bent spindle or maybe the spindle was broke at one time.

Thank you for this suggestion. I will follow through and make the appropriate checks. This is very helpful.

I will follow through with your suggestions and the suggestions of all the others who have responded. Your guidance is much appreciated.

really need a pic to see if something is wrong.
If you are talking just the slightest positive camber,
(top of the tire is out furthur than the bottom)
and we are looking at a tractor...
it's good, I'd be looking at the [i:631bacf900]other[/i:631bacf900] side.
A straight up and down or negative camber on a tractor front tire usually points to worn out spindle bushings or a bearing problem.

Thank you for your comment. I am attaching two photos of the tires for your review. It appears that the LF tire may have a spindle or bearing problem, but perhaps not too bad at this point.

The left front looks like it maybe off a little, but in a picture its hard to tell. Have someone turn the steering side to side a little, and watch the steering arms on the axle if its worn you will see the steering arm(s) move side to side before the tire turns.

Thank you Ptfarmer. I will check it out as you say.
