400 international gas tractor

Whats a fair price for a gas 400 with loader everything works unrestored the man wants to trade tractor for my 1997 f150 4x4 with 200,000 miles on it thanks howard

Hard to say without pictures or more information. How does it run, does the T/A work, does it have power steering, does it have a wide front, does it have 3pt or fast hitch, does it have fenders, how are the rear tires, what's the loader and what condition is it in??? ALOT of variables there including location as well...value could be anywhere from $2000 on up to $5500.

It really depends on if you need or want the tractor. If he wants your truck and only has a tractor that has enough value to get you interested in the deal, you could be hard pressed to be able to sell it for what you need to get out of it. $1500 is a safe price for the 400.

The current owner should be able to sell the tractor for more than you would be able to because you don't know the tractor or it's history. I doubt you could re-sell the 400 & a dual hydraulic loader for more than $2,500 tops.

Check the NADA, KBB or Edmund's values of your truck. If your truck is average NADA lists it at about $3000 trade-in from a dealer and I would guess $3500 to $4000 for a private sale. If you don't have a need for the tractor I'd ask for $2,000 plus the tractor to trade. That would give the buyer a good incentive to sell the tractor himself and then make a cash deal on your truck.

For 18 year old F150 with 200K? I bought a NICE 1997 F150 with only 120K (no rust and a few dents in the tailgate) 4 years ago for $3200. Its only worth $3500 to $4000 in trade if the dealer has his vehicle overpriced by $1500 to $2000. I was looking at trading my wife's 2008 Kia minivan with 156K miles today - according to the dealer they were "giving" me just over $10,000 for it in trade for a new van. Problem was their van was overpriced by $9000.

Are you really talking about an International 400 (W400) and not a Farmall 400?
