8n position control will not stay in draft position feels like it goes in but snaps out could it be spring and ball that holds it in or linkage seems to be hard to move to draft looks like the lever that moves valve is about 1/2 inch from pump not contacting pump I have pic. of system but reprints can't see this thing driving me nuts

hat is an 'over center' mechanism. Moving to Draft compresses a spring, thus the need to exert force, and once fully compressed, the over center mechanics holds it in that position. Might be bent linkage causing less than full movement such that over center does not reach the latch point. Need to remove top cover & operate Draft/Position lever & observe mechanism.
