I read that earlier this evening. Reminds me of the time a neighbor kid jumped on his dads tractor and mounted corn picker out in the field and chased the game warden out of the field in the dark..

Oh Lordy - it's Ellinwood. I had steers butchered there for years. In fact, my brother has in laws that still live there. It's the only town I know of that has an "After Harvest Festival". Every farmer drives their combine down Main Street and then they go to the beer garden. Really, that's all they do around there - look for an excuse to set up a beer garden.

Years ago in my part of Iowa some kids started up combines that were sitting in the field, put them in gear and let them go across the fields driverless. I forget how many were involved but today those kids are grown adults who probably wish the incident would go away.

The owner of this combine will probably have to pay to fix his equipment. I am sure the thief doesn't have any money. Someone stole a tank from a army base in San Diego in 1995, and did a lot of damage before he was stopped. Stan
