O/T Summer Peaches

I seen this little peach tree hanging out over a county road ditch and loaded with peaches. A guy told me they were summer peaches. I question is there such a thing? My granddad had about 10 peach trees, but we never called them summer peaches. Thanks

I worked for a local pick your own orchard, and they have different varieties of peaches that start in the end of June and there will be a different variety of peaches ripening all the way into August. Non were caller summer peaches. Probably just an old time local name

Neighbor says he and his wife have summer kids....summer mine, summer hers.
Could be the same with the peaches....summer mine, summer yours.

Wife grew up on a peach orchard. Summer peaches was sometimes used to refer to the early ripening clingstone varieties as opposed to the later ripening (and much better!) freestone varieties.
