I had a Chinese Redwood moved. It was getting too large and the needles were a pain. My wife has another seedling about 4 feet tall she wants planted. They shade the front of the house. Some operation moving that tree. Hal

How much did that cost you? I had a maple that was four foot at the base taken down last November. It cost me $1,000 for the guy to just drop it. It was complicated however by some of it being over the house and some over the wires running down the road. My neighbor took all that was good for firewood and I hauled the tops to my burn pile. I thought that the chopper would need a crane, but all he brought was a bucket truck, and he was done and gone in under two hours.

The cost was $925.00 and that included $150.00 for grinding the stump and hauling away the chips. They made three lifts on the tree and swung
each lift down to the street where they sawed off the limbs and shredded them. The tree trunks were loaded on crane truck. It took less than one hour to have the tree down and loaded. All the neighbors were watching this operation. Hal
PS: The stump grinding and cleanup took another hour.

That's the tree on the right near the house. It had a large root system that went out about 15 feet. Hal
PS: My wife wanted a chunk of the tree trunk and they sawed off a big chunk. You could tell that crew had been working together a long time.

They move quickly, hard to see the old trees come down, my neighbor just did one a few weeks back in that high heat, crane truck, 1 climber, 1 operator and one on the ground feeding the chipper, 3 hours it was done and nothing left on the lawn, I hauled the logs off for firewood, but that chipper took a good cord of firewood, I could not get them to give me the 6"-8" ones, makes me cringe to see that chipped up when I know its good firewood, easy to handle. You got a good deal, this job cost him 2K.

That is an odd looking tree with limbs all the way down to the base.So what part of the country do live-you already had snow? Mark
