Do they all share the same fuel filters? Do they share the same filter base? I was told at the local Napa auto parts that the secondary filter number is 3148 and they could not locate a filter for the primary. now the 3148 looks just like the primary and secondary filters however Napa tried to sell me a primary filter they said would work the number is a 3147 this filter does not look like the one it is replacing. It does not have the protrusion on one end with the O ring its flat on both ends with cork washers. I don't want to use this one I need some help finding a good place and the right ones to get quality filters please.

Been years BUY MY BEST MEMORY is the only difference is one has a water drain and one does not. Just get tow of that number they had and I think you will be fine.

I thought one of the filters was a sock type, hence the different part numbers. I used to have a TD-14A and those NAPA numbers ring a bell.

its two different filters. the first one which is auxilary one is the one that is the sock or wool looking one. to use the final filter here u need an adapter on the btm. of it. then u can use both the same filters. the wool filter is hard to get. the hole in base on aux filter is bigger.

check the online parts listings- there is a change in the part number for the base, after which the same element is used in both positions.

Yup you need them to both have the o-ring on one end. Just use the same one in both places. Filtration was not nearly what it was thought to be back then.
