Made it back

Went up to Cranbrook, Canada today and bought home another Allis. Crossing the border was no different than when I last went 12 or so years ago. Just had my expired passport and regular drivers license. Filled out an import form when coming back, never even asked to see the bill of sale. 9 hours on the road and 27 gallons of diesel later....

Eldon...bear with a bit of humour...you're into cross border hunting a rare species...border services haven't caught on yet that no more A-C's are allowed to leave Canada LOL. I
might have to go have a talk to them :) Don't worry I'm happy for you...not jealous.

By the looks of that bucket that thing is an daily driver. Maybe not too much wrong with it. Good score!!

Hey Eldon,
Where did you find good info about bringing machinery into the U.S.? I see some reasonable prices of haying equipment but am unsure about
regs and duties. Don't want any surprises when I hit the border coming home to Oregon.

I think it gets a little more complicated with higher priced items and items used for a business. This tractor was made in the USA, so it gets to come back duty free, as has always been the case. I let them know that I was a tractor collector.

One way to get a bad surprise at the border is to have any visible organic matter in or on it.
