Hydraulic fluid for MH Pony

I have a 1949 Massey Harris Pony. I had a leak in the hydraulic pump and cylinder so I have replaced all seals and gaskets. My owners manual says to use a good quality SAE 10 oil for the hydraulics and do an Oil change once a year. I've never seen this carried in a store. Not sure if its still being made. What type of oil should I use? Can I use 10w30 if I change it out more often? (there is no filter for hydraulic unit)

Thanks

Shawn

Search "oil viscosity chart". Reading across the chart, you'll see the SAE 10 oil is equivalent to ISO 32 oil.

So look for ISO 32 hydraulic oil. It may have an "RO" (rust and oxidation) prefix. This is safe to use with brass components, which may be in the hydraulic system.

Deere dealer will have 10W oil. The '60 series and older combines use it for hydraulic oil. That said, I use 10-30 in my Pony hydraulics.

Thanks alot I think thats what I'm going to do as well. I'm running 10-30 for motor oil as well so just easier.
