Be handy just to have to run around the place with when doing projects. Just load it up and have most of what you need.

I do a lot of mobile repair in my area and I am thinking it would be handy for that and have enough room to really have some tools with me. Plus the locks all work on the boxes so that is a big plus

Wow, that is not in bad shape at all.
By 1985 in Michigan that would have been rusted half way up the vehicle.
I cant recall the last time I even saw one on the roads up here. Late 80s?

A buddy of mine had one of that era back in the '80's I remember how cleanly laid out the engine compartment was , not a horrible wad of hoses and wires like modern trucks . Is your like that ? just clean and neat like an old Chevy six from the '50's

Engine sit in it so a guy can get to every thing with out having to remove 3 things to get to what you need. Good old V-Belt for water pump etc. So yes easy to work on under the hood.

The bottom of the lower boxes are rusted out but figure I should be able to patch them up pretty easy. Would paint it but not sure which I'll use Farmall red or Ford red LOL. I have a pint of both on hand

I had an '87 for over ten years, great little truck BUT eventually had some issues with cylinder heads (head gaskets, overheating, warping, plugs seizing up in their holes, etc), not sure how available any of those might be these days. I think yours is newer than a '77, your truck looks much like mine did. The older ones were a bit "skinnier" looking. Made by Mitsubishi, I guess you knew that already? I gave it away, often wondered what happened to that old beater. Had a reasonably big 4-cylinder with a carburetor, I think it was 2.8L, good mileage too.

My brother had one that looked a lot like that (no service body) that was yellow. He called it the "Little yellow rust bucket".

I believe it will make a truck. At least you have room to spend some money on it. We do a lot of work on mobile homes mainly smashing them and hauling them to the dump. Did one today.

(quoted from post at 22:20:06 09/16/15) Tag inside the door says Aug. 1976 so has to be a 76 or 77

Are you sure that tag doesn't say Aug. 1986. The older D-50s looked considerably different than yours (different generation and body). The model changed in 1987 to the style in your pics. BTW the D-50 wasn't around yet in 76 or 77, they came out in 79.
