I finally got my second set of thrust washer in and got everything back together and it turn over just fine now and will start on starting fluid. I remind you that this tractor has been torn apart and setting in the garage for 3 years. I took the injector lines off and fuel dribbles out, is this normal or should it be shooting out ,is there a certain way to primes the pump and could I have the fuel lines backwards going to and from the injection pump, the return line I have is on the back of the pump to the filter and the line I got going to the front of the pump is coming out of the filter

Setting that long I'll bet the plungers and/or metering valve are stuck inside from stale fuel. Just repaired a JD 4020 pump and an MF 165 pump for the same issue, a complete tear down, cleaning and reseal got the pumps working again..

Forgot to mention, the pump rear fitting is the fuel inlet, arrow on filter base OUT goes to the inlet. Front fitting next to the timing cover is the return, hooked to base return arrow. Even hooked wrong you should still have fuel spurt at each injector when cranking..

I do have some fuel but just a dribble at all 3 injectors. also do you know which way is off on the fuel shut off on the injection pump

also how hard is it to check the pluggers and metering valve do I have to pull the pump off to do this
