What's the best procedure to seal up a tractor gas tank (besides using a good one off a parts tractor,if you can find one)? And what's the best items to use to put between the tank and mounting frame? That's the problem with the one that has holes in it, it rusted where the pad "stuff" probably asorbed moisture through all the years? The tank is off a "40" Cockshutt. Thanks,Dave

I second Red Kote. I had a jeep gas tank with probably a hundred pin holes in it and I sealed the tank with Red Kote about ten years ago and it's still good. I also have a gas tank on a riding mower the bottom was completely rotted out. I cut the bottom out and welded a piece of sheet metal on and used the rest of the can of Red Kote on it and it worked great.
