Tractor Hauler brakes

My friend has a 1970 Chevy 2 ton truck that he hauls tractors with to pulls, etc. He told me that he needed to adjust the brakes and wasn't sure exactly which way to turn the adjusters. He said that he thought that on both front and rear you turn the left adjuster one direction and the right one the other direction but he doesn't remember which way for which one and asked me to find out for him. Any of you guys have that filed away in your noggin? Thanks, gm

I think if you put a flat blade adjuster in the adjusting hole you would move the handle downward making the starwheel go upwards closet to the baking plate useing the front plug of the backing plate on all wheels
hope that makes sence

that would give drivers side one way and the passenger side the other way
but if the self adjusters are still in the drums the adjusters should only turn one way

iirc put the adjuster TOOL in and move your handle (hand) toward the axel to tighten. for both sides, top & bottom.. as i remember.

He should jack the wheel up and tighten up the adjuster until the wheel wont turn, then back it off. That will set the shoes. It don't take long to figure out which way you turn them.
