Galion 503 motor grader

I just recently service my tandem drives and was curios as how much fluid should a guy run in those. Just enough to cover the chain or half way up the reservoir? anyone has experience here would appreciate the feed back. I plan on putting straight power punch in it the lucas Oil brand.

Should have a check, or level plug, that you fill the oil to. Stop adding oil when it starts to come out the plug hole.

Agreed.. while not the same machine, we also run older cat graders and JD graders with chain boxes, and we fill them so that the input shaft on the inside isn't 'drowning' in oil. Kinda similar to a tractors axle / axle trumped oil level so that the axle seal isn't constantly 'under water'.
