South Jersey getting dry!

Man we have not had a real rain since August 11 and that was not even 1/2 inch. I almost lost some bushes but just caught them in time. Soaked them several times. Went shopping at my local wholesale hardware store and took a few shots on the way home. Some of the grass is bleached blond now. That is Tigger in the crate with my canned peaches. Man he is getting big. Tractor in the grass. Hope the weather man is correct with a chance of rain Thursday. Heard 1-3 inches possible. We sure need it cause all of the truck crop farms have every pump they have going. The sweet corn is in tassel and is only WASTE high. I should have taken a picture.

Those lawns tell the story. We are not quite that bad here in central NC, but we have not had nearly as much rain as we need this summer, My yard is still growing well, but the little pond behind the house is lower than it has been in about three years. I have actually mowed about twenty feet on the shallow end where it has dried enough to run my lawn tractor over it.

Know what your mean. After years and years and there are STILL seeds that will germinate! What was neat in the latest issue of popular mechanics or science ,one of those, there is a story about how bad the drought in California is. Look at the pictures with how low the water is! There are lots of dead trees at the bottom and they are still standing. By the way in lake Mead behind Bolder dam there is a busted up B29 plane. It is just a little below the surface and can be an easy sport diver trip now. I wish the air force would let someone salvage it for an air museum.

we've had 0.2 in. since the last day of June. supposed to get about 0.5 in. today. South Central Texas. Lawns here are pretty crunchy.

Dry here in northern NY to. Grass is still green but not growing much and the corn is starting to turn. The weather guessers are not predicting rain for a while.

Just plug into your web search. "B-29 Lake Mead" A whole ton of stuff pops up. I hope they will salvage it.

No, that farm is about 8 miles down the road. They raise Field Mums and ornamental cabbage. The stuff you see out front of home desparet and your local super market in the late summer. With the rear spread so wide it looks like some sort of creeping bug when it is going down the rows. As you can see it is really well taken care of. Would be a fun restore.
