The Chrisman Illinois town celebration is this weekend. Friday they have a free Ham and Bean dinner (donations welcome, used to purchase rescue equipment by local fire department), live music by a band called Battle Creek. There is also a cruise in, which depending on weather draws a decent turn out of classics.
Saturday there is a little tractor show in the morning until parade time. They usually have around 60+ tractors or so. Many wind up in the parade. There is a Jonah fish fry that evening in the park, and a large tractor pull that starts up in the afternoon in another park. If you have nothing else going on this weekend, it looks like the weather will be perfect for it. The ham and beans are outstanding every year cooked in giant kettles right there in the park over wood, it is a neat setup.
