yesterday afternoon LeRoy came over with his round baler to bale some hay. that thing gave him nothing but trouble.
for some reason the twine is getting wrapped up in the pickup we spent half of the afternoon cutting and digging the twine out of the pickup until 6 or later.
as we were laying under the baler LeRoy said "gosh darn this ground is getting hard"
i said "son of a biscuit LeRoy as long as we have been under here you would think the ground would be getting a little softer by now".
today he came over to try it again and the silly thing started wrapping the twine up in pickup again so he went home and got his square baler and finished the job than less in a hour.

The twine was getting cut off too long and then would feed in when the hay hit it. A very common issue on a twine baler. I am darn glad I do not sue twine anymore.

As for the ground getting hard. Well it is getting further down too. LOL

Went to see a Cartoon with farm and tractor (with grapple) Shaun the Sheep. many many hidden meaning and funny elements. Claymation in vein of Wallace and Gromit. Jim

The twine arm should have a brake mechanism that holds the twine from playing out further when in the "home" position. Perhaps this is not functioning properly? Also, even a small flow of hay into the baler when wrapping begins should keep the twine off the pickup.
