White 2-155 steering hose

Blew something under the dash on the steering of the 2-155. Can I leave the back two cab mount bolts in and remove the other four to jack up the front of the cab? Will the fuel tank come out with just jacking up the front of the cab? I replaced one of those hoses years ago on a 1955 oliver and had to remove fuel tank and jack front of the cab up a long way to get it out, this one looks tighter yet. Thanks for any information.

It has been several years but if I remember right I was able to replace the hoses without moving the cab or the fuel tank. Early 2-155 type dash.

Thanks, yes it does come out by the steering column. We went back out after lunch and start pulling covers off. I thought the top dash cover needed to come off and to do that we would have had to jack up the cab. We left the top cover on. We took the top cover by the tilt steering column, left side cover, light switch, turn switch, diff lock switch, clutch and throttle linkage under the tank off and then shoe horned it out of there.

Just for future reference, what series is yours? I've got a series 3 and have pondered how to get in there.

Its a early series, but painted similar to the series 3 by the previous owner. I don't know if the series 3 has a different dash or not. Remove the lower top cover by the tilt steering, remove left dash cover and lower the steering column to the low position. Remove the hose off of the steering motor and then remove the clutch linkage and throttle linkage under the fuel tank to get better access to the other end of the hose. If it is one of the supply or return hose, I think you need to remove the floor board too. I think my 1955 oliver would have come apart this way also, but I went about it the hard way and removed the fuel tank and upper dash. Made it easy to get to the hoses, but a days work and a lot of cussing getting the tank out with a cabbed tractor.
