Finally got the JOHN DEERE 70gas Std back together and running well, now to get the wood shed filled. This is the first year for this wood shed so everything is a first time deal. Hopefully burning dry wood will be good first time experience. Getting this 70 gas std working well was an all summer project as power steering pump was leaking and other issues needed addressed as well. Thanks to everyone that helped alone the way.

Dan, I like your shed. What are you going to use the lean to's for? What size is the main part? How deep are the lean to's?MTP...

The building that inspired me was an old corn crib (think I still have that pic) and the fact that I still have 4 - 6 thousand board feet of lumber that was cut when these buildings were built. May still fill in the sides with wood slats. Both sides and front have an eight foot shed roof. The back side is used to store the elevator, all 32 ft. of it. The other side will store smaLL thing like my wood splitter.

The middle section is 12 ft. wide 16 ft. high and over all length 32 ft. Does not really look like the corn crib but that is where we started.

Nice all around. Looks like you have your work cut out filling that crib, but it looks like you have the right kind of helpers.

On burning dry wood vs wet, I learned about the "heat of water vaporization" in firewood my first year here. I had it stacked outside and if I got the fire going at all, the heat was low and it took forever.....had to get the water in the wood vaporized first so I could get the BTUs out of the wood.

After that, kept it dry and great fires.

Really neat all around set up, like the 70 JD, seen a zillon corn cribs, never seen one with slats going every direction, whats that for.
