Oliver. Is it normall.

looking at buying either a 66 or 77 oliver but where the clutch goes into the engine it makes a clicking noise when u push in the clutch. not sure is this normall or broke

Oliver was pretty innovative but I
don't think they had an audible clutch
alarm. My guess would be a bad pilot
bearing but wait for smarter people on
here for a more accurate idea.

Sounds like the clutch fork is hitting the pressure plate. Probably not broke, just worn out. Although I have seen the forks bend. Will have to pull the bell housing off to see what's going on.

It only makes the noise when u push the clutch in and its only once it does it. Like you push the clutch in in in then it like hits or something that makes a clunk like noise, then you shift it in gear and release the clutch

With all your replies it did it 6 times already lol....(Im JUST kidding :) Sounds like what was mentioned.

My first one that I bought back in 1969 did that. I never did bother to fix it. It didn't hurt anything. Just don't push the pedal down so far.

Joseph, The clutch is most likely out of adjustment and is pushing the throw out bearing into the pressure plate. If you back off on the adjustment rod/shorten it a little the clicking should go away.

thanks now im down to the point i called the guy and i can either buy a 66 row crop for 1000 but it needs a good card clean or a 77 for 15000 thats ready to go if you think ones better than the other let me know
