I have a farmall H that is a 1945 magnento start but i cannot get spark out of the cap. It comes in from the magnento into the cap but does not go through the cap. We put a new cap and rotor on as well as plugs and plug wires it is sitting for a little wire and in running a farm i need it really bad. Please help im lost. :(

Not sure what you mean by "comes in from the magneto".

Have you checked if the points are making good contact? They're usually the first to go. You can test with a cheap ohm meter. Could also be the condensor.

Start with the most obvious. With the cap removed, try turning the engine. See if the rotor moves. If it does not, you have found the problem. If it moves, then check for shorting to ground. If the rotor shorts to the shaft it is mounted on, it will also cause you to lose spark. Look for carbon tracking on either the rotor or the cap. Also check the resistance of the wire coming from the mag to the cap. If this wire is broken internally, again, no spark and no start.
Hope this is of some help.
