Fall pasture seeding

My dad has a small pasture lot around the farm he rents out for 12 head of young stock. This year he had to add two lots. These lots were alfalfa hay the past two years. This fall we are going to need to inter-
seed the alfalfa with grass to establish long term grasses in the lots. These two lots are each 1/4 an acre in size. What would be the best way to get grass seed into the ground…grain drill? We have never had
to do something like this before so any ideas-advice are greatly appreciated!! Thank You!!

I would wait until late winter/very early spring and seed the grass then. It will work better. Fall seeded grass can easily winter kill. It depends on where your at. I get enough late winter early spring freezes and thaws to frost seed the grass. If you do not have that then just run the grass seed through your grain drill.

I use a Sod/Pasture drill but with 1/4 acre lots it'd be a little tight and not worth the effort. With that small amount of land I'd broadcast some seed this Fall and if it didn't work out do it again next late Winter or Spring.
