I noticed oil coming from the left brake of the MH44 today, I pulled the cover and found the bottom of the housing full. I pulled the disk brake assembly out expecting to find the bull pinion seal leaking, but it was dry. I stuck my finger in the fluid, it was hydraulic and not transmission fluid. I remembered that a lot of hydraulic fluid leaked out when I put the power steering on. The fluid had apparently collected in the brake housing when I did that.
The lesson I learned is to confirm the type of fluid before taking a lot apart.
