With tire chains that are 9 feet long by 15'' wide, what size tire will they fit? Is there a reference anywhere that anyone knows about that would give me this information? Will they fit on a 12.4-24 tire?

Thanks,
Scott in Brighton NY

I do not know for sure but I will almost bet they are way to long. One way to have an idea is take your tractor and put a mark on the tire and on the ground. Then move it forwar till that mark hits the ground again. Measure how far that is and you will know how long a chain you need to fit it

the location on the sidewall where the tire chain perimeter chains (long, not cross) will be forming a circle is at about 30 inches. It takes about 8 feet to get around this distance. If the cross links are long enough to allow the chain to drape well, the chains will work. It is worth trying. lay it out and drive onto it. Lift the ends and wire them together. Jim.

16 inches wide by 112 inches long 2 link spacing ladder chains fit my 12.4 X 28 ag tread tires.
Yours should fit.

(quoted from post at 21:28:55 08/09/15) 16 inches wide by 112 inches long 2 link spacing ladder chains fit my 12.4 X 28 ag tread tires.
Yours should fit.

The ladder type chains that fit the 13.6 X 28 on my Allis WD are 10'-6" long and the cross chains are 20" long. These are very snug on new 13.6 X 28 tires. The cross links are located every 5 links on the side chains.

Best way is to use the calculator.
Circumference equals pi times diameter. Therefore, dividing the circumference (length of the chain) by pi (3.1416) will tell you the approximate tire diameter that it will fit.
