Nice Day For A Car Show

After the three inches of rain we finally got a nice sunny day today , just in time for the antique car show at the local museum. I got the old Chevy II out of the shed, washed and waxed and parked it in alongside the "real antiques" just for fun. There was some great old iron there including this 53 Customline.

Yes, that was a nice F350. A 54 I believe.

The old former brick school house in the background is now a museum.

love to see the older cars
that 53 custom line looks like a Meteor
think they were a Canadian car basicly a dressed up Ford with Mercury trim
nice to see one in the states
some other Canadian autos I know of were Fargo pickups which were dressed up dodges and Mercury pickups
I know of others but most were pre WW2
also in Canada we had a Pontiac Acadian which was a dresses up Chevy II

You are right, the car is a Meteor. There were two levels of Meteor available. The top of the line Customline like this one which is more Mercury with the bigger flathead and the Mercury instruments. The cheaper version, Mainline, was more like the Ford with the smaller 239 engine and Ford dash.
Since you mention Chevy II, I had mine there at the show. You can just see it parked between this 32 Ford "rat rod" and a 59 Imperial.

I saw it there.
Nice looking car.
Around here if ya see one it's going to have a beefed up V8 stuffed in it and mag wheels.
Not that they don't look nice but I prefer stock looking any day.
And thats from someone who spent a lot of time working in automotive customizing in my 20's & 30's
had few show winners I was part of.
Saw a guy a few yrs back with a wagon looked stock but had a 396 stuffed in it with steel wheels and hub
caps that was a sleeper for sure.

That looks like a good time to be had by all!!! I like looking at older cars and trucks. I like the everyday type of cars not the real rare stuff. The type of cars we all drove or rode in.

For sure it was. Every year I mean to sit back and listen to the live old time music that plays there but I never get around to it. Just too many people to meet and talk to as we explore the line up of cars. There is a draw for a prize for the top three "peoples choice" car which helps keep it interesting. A quick refresher tour through the museum to see what is new and then hit the road in the Chevy II.
