PTO on IH 756

I have a 756 and was trying to finish up bailing. The PTO engaged fine but about the time the roll would get 2-3 feet in diameter it PTO would stop? Any Ideas? Checked oil level. Added oil but it had plenty in it. Confused. Thought the filter might need to be changed but had no problem kicking roll out of baler?

Check the valve you pull up to engage pto. It is screwed into the block and may have backed out. Earlier models used Loctite on threads to hold them and later pto's used a lock nut. You should have a gauge to put on to check pressure but might get by for the time being just screwing it back in a few turns provided it actually came loose. Other wise, clutch's are shot inside and requires pulling unit and repair.

My experience with IH tractors with similar PTOs suggests that a replacement clutch-pack will be required to remedy the situation.

Thanks. I'll check it but with my luck it will be the clutches. Is that something I can do or will it have to be taken to a mechanic?

Thanks

Are there any videos of the change?
