Torque amplifier

The older I get, the more I need longer wrenches. A cheater bar wasn't good enough for this job, so I invented a torque amplifier. I was surprised how well it worked in the limited space. It was simple to make and like most of my projects I made it out of scrap metal. Sorry for the poor pic quality. It was difficult to hold the camera steady while holding the tools with one hand and take a pic with the other.

using a box end wrench interlocked into the opposite end of a open end wrench is also a cheap ready to use alternative. Jim

Janicholson,
That's going to be difficult to do. I have to twist two wrenches in opposite direction around hyd hoses. I tried using a pipe and your method before I came up with this idea.

Yes.
The two big 3/4" bolts on the top of the bell housing on a 3 cylinder Ford are not easy to get at to tighten.
Two 1 1/8" wrenches locked together like you suggest does the trick.

And that is why i love my Mac Long combination wrenches , they were not cheap even when i bought them many years ago . My set goes from 5/16ths to 2 inch .

I'll have to remember your idea next time I need more torque in a situation where locking two wrenches together doesn't work.

I really like your tool extenders. I have 20 tools I have modified for special applications. They always make me grin. Jim
