Its been a great haymaking week, weather has been about perfect working on about 70 acres
of hay on a farm next to mine.Thought this would be the last for awhile but a fellow came by and offered me 20 acres of hay free not too far from me so I guess that'll be next.

I should have cut more than I did I guess. I cut Monday, rolled 54 bales Wednesday. If I had cut more Tuesday I could have rolled it yesterday or today. I thought this weather pattern was here to stay for a while so I'd be good for next week though, but now they're saying hot and humid with a chance of rain Tuesday and Wednesday. Oh well, not the end of the world.

Yup has been a good week for it. I got ours cut and rolled. Had the outside and first couple of rounds in the middle get washed. The rest is done just needs to be hauled. That's today's job. I have a couple of little pieces to do that are easier to do as hay than anything else. I will mow that today and should be able to bale that tomorrow. Usually can mow one day and bale the next. The rest is grass so will dry faster.

I have a field ready to bale this afternoon. With luck will have it on the wagons and inside before tonights forecast rain. Will have gotten this one up without getting it wet! (FINGERS CROSSED)

I cut the last of my first cutting on Monday, baled yesterday. Finally done, hope we get decent weather and rain to get a good 2nd cutting, at this rate, will be end of September for me. Glad to be finally done with first. No rain on any of it, which is a miracle.

We need pictures!

Nothing makes you second guess yourself like deciding how much hay to mow....especially with this years weather.

That's for sure. You can be looking at the sky, cursing that you need rain bad, then not cut because there's a 20% chance of rain two days out.

not here--cut hay Tuesday evening still to green to bale-just turned it once-will try it again tonight and hope it will go tomorrow afternoon weather permitting.
