We have had a tough hay season like pretty much everyone else, with no rain in April or May, and precious little in June or July. Though there has been little rain there is a high likelihood in the forecast pretty much all the time so making hay has been very dicey. I have done OK despite poor forecasts, until today. I got it mowed by 10:00 and went to tedd it out around 1:00. I was just leaving the field when I felt rain drops. From bright sun to rain in 10 minutes. It was a quick shower so it will not have hurt the hay much, but I may have to discount it a little. I am very glad that I cut way back on my hay ground a few years ago. It is just not as satisfying as it used to be.
