Dirt smoothed out

Rest of the dirt moved and graded, ready for 4 more loads friday.

At some point that will be a driveway leading back to a 2 car garage.

And my daughter took the '64 simplicity with roller to roll the dirt down, and to get comfortable with the machine.

It just got real dark and windy, then sprinkled for about 10 minutes, and the sky turned red. Beautiful sunset, but no rain to speak of.

I just rebuilt the carb on the simplicity, wasn't running on anything but full choke, and poorly at that. Now it fires right up and runs like a champ. I'd like to get a much bigger roller, but I'm not sure how heavy is safe to pull behind that little tractor.

I should put the hood back on now that it's ready to go again and clean it up real nice. Has the rear pto vacuum and grass trailer that holds 38 bushels.

It's awaiting a restoration, '73 S-16 with broken rod and crank. Going to pick up a chinese 10hp diesel and bolt it on. Also have a '71 New Holland S-14 and '69 new Holland S-14. Can't seem to get enough of the old machines.

If he does, he will need 4 loads of rock, not more dirt. Where I live all that dirt will
be mud when the spring thaw comes. The top of the ground is thawed while the ground
below is still frozen.

Gravel is half the price of white rock. I would put down some #2 gravel and work it in
the dirt to make a solid base.

I've tried and tried and TRIED to smoothout dirt like that.... cannot do it.

with that red tint, it looks like my clay.
work on the drainage and it will pack down like concrete even without stone.
5 minutes after a rain, ya might leave surface tracks....hour later..concrete again.

nice old little tractors too.
The old ones can pull.
Here is one thrown together from a mish-mash of spare parts,
pulling a 1000lb roller.
pulled it fine......stop it....lol..no way
