FARM AUCTION PUT DOWN

I went to a farm auction Saturday and after about 5 hours I asked the auctioneer when they were selling the item that I had came to try and buy. He replied "in about ten minutes". A while later he announced that he was selling my item and then he asked, "where is that old guy that wanted to bid on this thing?" Now he had his nerve calling me old as I am only in my early 80's and I am in better shape that most of those who were in attendance.

Is there any law that would allow me to sue him for age discrimination? Just kidding. I talked to him this morning and he said he knew that would get a rise out of me. I was the high bidder and now I need to find a trucker to haul it for me. Only weighs 38,500 pounds. A little much for my Ford pickup and trailer.

There's a couple of auctioneers around her who like to give me a hard time. I'd think they were mad at me if they didn't.

Glad you got it. I'm in my early 70's and bought a hay processer at a sale. The wife riped me a new one cause I was too old to be buying more farm machinery.

I was bidding on a tractor at a farm auction last spring. I quit bidding and the auctioneer put me in twice after that. I was looking around to see who was bidding. I thought someone was bidding behind me. He knocked it off to me. When I told him I quit bidding two bids ago he called me an old SOB in front of the crowd. I'm 65,maybe I am.
