Temp question

I heed some help. I have a White tractor and the temp guage slowly go up to normal range. Then it will bounce around then peg out on hot. The motor is not overheating as the block is cool and the fluid in the rad is cook enough I can stick my finger in it. Any ideas. Thanks

Sounds like you have a ground problem,remove the temp. sensor from the block and clean it,make sure it doesn't have any teflon tape on it,that interrupts the ground connection to the sensor through the block.

Could be the sensor giving a false signal. Also check the wire on the sensor, make sure it's not burned through on the exhaust or pinched, mouse chewed, or shorting to ground.
