I have a JD implement/planter hauler, the kind that will lay flat on ground
to load. Donahue still makes them,I think. Does anyone know what kind of
lumber was used to make the deck on these ? Original equipment is long gone
and I want to refurbish unit to use.

They had 4x12 or 3x12, pine from the factory. It was strong but would rot out fairly quickly. I have been replacing them with treated bridge planks the last 10-15 years. I have seen guys stack 2x12 treated lumber but it is just a little too thin. The angles stick up above the lumber.
