It is time to start looking for tires for my truck. It is a 2004 Chevy 2500 HD. I have never heard of treadwright tires before and other than on military trucks have never dealt with re treads. Anyone ever use these? I haul a trailer and up to 10k occasionally. I appreciate all opinions and thoughts.

Thanks,
Matt

Mine is 2003 Chevy 2500HD 4x4. I am currently running Cooper ATP load range E tires. I have about 5K on these mostly hauling a goose neck total trailer and load between 9-10k. These are holding up well so far. They are not the best off road I have found.

Last set was Yokohama Highlander AT/S load range E and I got almost 35K out of those. Again not the best off road.

When the Coopers are done I will go back to Firestone Destination A/T most likely or the Hercules Ironman as both of those held up well.

Myself and my sons run the treadwright tires on several vehicles from 15" 6ply on rangers to 16 and 17" 10 ply on full size 4x4 3/4 t pickups. have had real good luck with them. Just make sure if you get some that all the tires are same brand carcasses. I personally like the michlens but the boys run the others as well. If we had any problems they took care of them very timely. Good Luck.

I use Treadwright 'caps' on a couple of pickups. Our feed truck ( round bale handler )for one. Their tires have done well, only had one failure out of several sets & they replaced that tire. I don't use them on the truck I tow with, I have stuck with new tires for that job. I buy the one's that have what they call 'Kedge' grip. Those are great on packed snow and Ice. Might add that I buy their mud tires - it's hard to find a mud tire that also works well on ice. Do I run them long distances on the highway - NO, I also don't run them on my 'tow' vehicle , but for everything else, they are fine. JMO

I have had a set of Warden AT's ( BFG AT) for a couple years on a 3/4t dodge/cummins. They balanced out good and have lasted real well. The tires are 285/70-17 (E), when I called to order I asked them for the BFG carcasses, not sure if they normally send out mismatched carcasses or not though but I wanted the BFG's since the tread pattern is a copy.

My brother wore out a set of the Guard Dog MT's on a 1/2t Chevy Z71, and had no problems out of them either. If I remember right these tires came on matching bridgestone carcasses
