I might be getting an Oliver 77 diesel and I was looking for a gas but this deal would almost be to good to pass up I was wondering if there's anything I can do to earn money with it to get a gasser the one I'm looking does have hydraulics and a drawbar but the only equipment I have is an old spreader made into a trailer and I could get a hay wagon so any ideas on what to use it for to make some money with it ?

Pretty hard to make any money with just a tractor.Got to have some implements.Hay baleing is pretty 'lucrative'.But yiou will also need a swather/haybine or mower and rake.Bush hogging is also a way to make some money.Find out what kind of work is in demand in your area. Then round up the equipment. Why are you so set on a "gasser"? A diesel will run way cheaper than gas. There are many reasons why a diesel is superior to a gas burner.

Hydraulics and a wagon??? Sounds like your getting ready to get into the wood splitting business.
If its got a belt pulley or pto you could rig up one of those big saws on the front and see how long you keep all your fingers.

If you lived on a dirt road, you could spend all night hauling water, and all day pulling cars out of the mud.

You sound like the boys a couple roads over. There were only two families that lived on that road then. In the spring they would rutt the road in front of there own property with the tractor. Then wait for the stuck people to knock on the door to get pulled out. CHA-CHING. They had em right where they wanted them and before cell phones. MTP...

if the deal is really that good...there is your money.
no restoring, just get all systems working well, clean it up, paint it up (no high $ paint job, just pay attention to detail and do a good job)

read any board here..everybody wants the diesel and they are worth more. after you are done with it, sell it and buy your gasser and pocket the difference.

I'm not a farmer, so I prefer gas myself. much easier and cheaper
to fix em up for sale/trade.

I was just in the same situation, but I was too slow...
3000 diesel Ford with a brush-hog that was 'what's the catch' cheap.didn't last an hour on CL.
I was going to grab it, pretty it, sell it, and buy TWO gassers with the money..lol
