Hi, I have a ford 800, I believe around 1968, with a sherman backhoe and wagner loader. The tractor ran about a year ago, but
when I install the battery now, the starter stays on, any ideas on how to fix this? Also can anyone tell me approx what this
tractor is worth. I am thinking of selling it?

The Ford 800 series tractors were made from 54 to 57 so it's older than 1968.

Replace the starter solenoid or relay. It's stuck.

Value? Who knows? Not enough info. Overall condition? Tires? Running/not running? And finally location. What is a 1K tractor here may be worth 2K there kinda thing.

Welcome to the forums!
Your solenoid it stuck. Rap it lightly but sharply with a
screwdriver or hammer handle to see if it will release.

The Ford 800 was a series of tractors that contained several
models. 840, 850, 860 etc. Each with different options.
They were made from 1954-1957.

How much it is worth will depend on which model you have,
what condition the tires, tin, engine, trans etc are in and of
course where you are located. They bring more in some
parts of the country than they do other parts.

Without a little more I could only guess at a broad range.

How is your starter switch set up?If it's original, the wire coming from the starter switch could be grounding out.If so the starter will spin whenever the battery is connected.
