PSI for Hydraulic Hoses

The tractor's hydraulic system is listed as 2000 PSI, which should get you pretty close on hose pressure.

Hoses should be rated for 2X the intended pressure to be safe when stopping a load being lowered. Safety is a good thing. Jim

I always try to buy the max PSI hoses I can find and be done with it. You can never go wrong doing it that way but you sure can go wrong is you say buy a hose made for 2000PSI and use it on a system that has 3500PSI

The hose you'll find most generally these days is 100R17 which is rated at a working pressure of
3000 psi. The burst pressure of hose is always 4 times the working pressure rating so there is
already a good safety factor built in. This 100R17 hose will be fine for virtually any tractor
remote applications - it is what you find on nearly all new implements.

As Brandon-KS mentioned, the safety factor's built into the hose for the rated pressure. You can go higher if it makes you feel better, but it's not necessary, particularly with a system as old as his.
