I am thinking about a 80-90 pto horsepower tractor. I am comparing the JD and Kubota. According to the JD website the 6105D matches up with M100gx. They have a few propaganda videos comparing the two. Naturally the JD wins in every video. Looking at the two though I would say the Kubota appears to match up closer to the fancier M series JD than the lower grade D series. I am trying to compare the machines as close as possible. I priced the JD set up the way I want and it hit $68,000. The Kubota was around $72,000. I would also like any opinions on either tractor if anyone has any.
My usage for this tractor is haying and feeding in the winter, spraying, and planting. It needs to do the chores my JD 2510 and 4010 do now but I'm sure not getting rid of them by no means. The summers are getting to hot and the winters are getting to cold anymore it seems. I believe in buying the machine with the best dealer support however I don't know who that is anymore. After the last independent JD dealer was forced to sell out to a mega dealer they went downhill fast. The service department has gotten worthless and the salesmen don't want to look at you unless your spending a couple hundred thousand. I would have to drive 70 miles to get to a different mega dealer and the couple times I've been there ended up getting treated worse. Kubota in this area I have one mega dealer and two smaller chain stores to go to. The big chain and one small chain also sell red equipment but most everything sitting on their lot is orange. I bought a Kubota RTV from one of them but other than filters I haven't had much to do with any of them. The RTV's been to reliable for me to see how their service department stands up.
