Watermelon Spill

Went to pick up a tractor today coming back on I95 just North of Rocky Mount NC pickup pulling a trailer with a big load of watermelons flipped over on I95 nice big melons all over the road,fellow driving looked OK which was good since the cab got crushed in pretty good.

Haven't seen a watermelon spill, but do have a watermelon story. A fella came from Texas to Alamogordo, NM, with a semi-load of watermelons. I stopped and bought a couple watermelons and looked into the trailer. He had loose hay about 3 ft. deep the full length of the trailer to cushion the melons on the haul.

I told him that grass hay was a valuable commodity in that area; that the hay that he hauled in was almost as valuable to horse owners as the melons he brought in. He hurriedly made a sign to tell people that he had grass hay for sale as well as the melons!.
