may be going to gulf shores area on october to see some old friends and was wondering any good tractor/ farm related stuff to see there. not a sit in the tavern type, so i'd like to sneek out for a day and see some interesting things. any suggestions? prolly fly in to pensacola and drive from there.

Fort Morgan is at the mouth of mobile bay, a civil war fort. Elberta Al has the Baldwin county heritage museum, Foley has the Foley train depot and model train exhibit. That time of year, most all the farmers around here will be inverting and combining peanuts.

Take the ferry from ft Morgan to dauphin island. I have visited all the other places listed here and they are all awesome. Dauphin watching cruises on the inter costal water way are much fun as well. Awesome seafood everywhere. Orange beach and perfido key gives miles east of gulf shores has less tourism more off the beaten path places to eat.

The Coastal Alabama Farmers and Fishermans market in Foley is worth a stop, lots of local handcrafts as well as food and canned stuff, I always find something to bring home there. Auburn Universitys Fairhope agriculture staion is right on Mobile Bay about 20 miles from Foley. Mobile Bay itself is worth the drive in my opinion.
